First day in the land of kimchi and BBQ

안녕 하세요!!

Reporting from Seoul (apologise for the simple blog layout, I'm using my Samsung Note 3).

The boyfriend (Melvin) and I touched down in Seoul around 3pm today, feeling very seedy from watching movies instead of sleeping during our 16 hr travel. After getting dropped off by a lunatic of a taxi driver and checking into our hotel, we were ready to eat some meat. Unfortunately where we are staying (Myeongdong) is not known for their restaurants. So we settled for a Chicken Galbi BBQ joint called Yoogane. For those who don't know much about Korean BBQ, galbi refers to ribs. According to their window, they have been making traditional marinated chicken galbi BBQ for 30 years.

The verdict..... it was pretty delicious and not too spicy, but then again we were sleep deprived and our last four meals were on an airplane. We ordered the chicken galbi and octopus combo. The menu pictures were quite deceiving. We thought a pan would come out full with meat..... it wasn't.......maybe a third full. However, enough food for the both of us. I did like that they put a barrier around the pan so you didn't get splashed with oily meat juice.

All up we spent ₩22000 (~25AUD) which included two bowls of rice and unlimited sides (they aren't really worth talking about).

After getting bumped around by 10million people, we ended the night with a hot dog potato twister (being Myeongdong, we paid the premium price of ₩3000).

Thanks for reading, it's time to sleep for 16hours smelling like shampoo and BBQ'd chicken.

(I don't know why Melvin is sideways)
